| growing population |
The festival is growing ever closer & the Uchronians are gripped by change in their surrounding environment. This change is gaining momentum, as the population of the city seems to double each day. We can no longer visit our beloved hot springs. They closed today until the festival is over. More & more visitors to both the base camp & the construction site also reduce the level privacy. We came here for Burning man yet the space & freedom we felt in the early days when it was just a desert will be sorely missed. But this is all about community. So on the other hand there is Dog Fish. A cozy cocktail bar on wheels, sporting colorful lights, a mirror ball & fury fluro seats. The barman is Frank, a madman, but a great guy. The growing population also means an increase in the chit chat about the “crazy Belgians”! We are developing quite a reputation. Not sure why? May have something to do with the sheer size of our sculpture. It is this sheer size however, that made not all smooth sailing today. The weight of the overhanging second wing caused some inner supports to crack & …it moved! Not far. Just to rest against a conveniently located sky jack, of which the occupants removed themselves at high speed. However, after some quick patching, all was back on track. So the overall form is finished with further detailing yet to go. In the evening it was seen illuminated for the first time, as wiring & testing of the lights commenced. This added new & stunning dynamic to the structure.
